The company known as Bluemicrophone has released quite an interesting device, namely a microphone. It is not a conventional kind of microphone we all used to. Yeti USB Mic has received a THX certificate (nicknamed after first George Lucas’s movie «THX 1138»). It has unbelievably low distortion and impressive high fidelity thanks to up-to-date design and quality. It records in stereo and has a cardioid that may be omnidirectional and bidirectional that grade the result up under any recording conditions and in any situation be it live recording, broadcast, interview, concert or podcast. Yeti USB Mic is also packed up with a digital convertor analogue as well as hidden headphone amp. So now you may forget about such unpleasant things as echo or delay that usually spoil everything while recording.

However, the price is not that democratic – $149.99. As the manufacturer claims Yeti USB Mic will be available in December already. The mic is ready to be plugged into a USB port and be used directly out of the box. Your PC or Mac will do. What is more, the microphone has a few convenient controls for mic pattern, mic gain, volume and headphone volume.

Overall, Yeti USB Mic is not a good investment for such purposes as Skype. However, if music recordings, Internet living communication and doing podcasts make up your daily routine, I think it is worth attention.

Recently the company Brando has added to its list a new family member – the foppish USB Mini Fridge. Basically, this old-school stylish tiny is destined to keep you cool while you’re working on the computer. All in all, USB Mini Fridge is designed in accordance to the classic fridges with LED built inside. Unfortunately, the device can contain only one can with volume no more than 0.5 liters. Sadly enough, the designers have ignored the needs of beer-lovers preferring drinking the beverage from glass bottles.

How does it work? Well, it has a 60 mm fan set in its bottom part blowing on the radiator which is the stand for cans at the same time. Still, there is something that confuses me. Conventional fridge cools beverages up to 8-12 degrees while USB Mini Fridge can cool only to 19 degrees when the room temperature is 24. However, this stand doesn’t cover the whole device. Thus, USB Mini Fridge can be useful only if you take a chilled beverage from a normal fridge and don’t want it to warm up quickly. But if you go exactly for this, plug this trendy piece into your computer USB port and chill out!

USB Mini Fridge is compatible with any USB device including MAC, PC, Play Station, Xbox 360, including cable boxes. Its measurements are 194×90x90 mm while its weight is 362 g. The cost of this little wonder reaches no more than $33. Pretty nice, huh?

Several days ago my friend presented me a wonderful gift – USB Toaster. “Single Slice USB Powered Toasting Computer Accessory” as it was said on the box. It made me smile when I received a gift. But when I opened it, it made me smile in second time:) It was a fake. I found inside only some old newspapers and candies. The box has nice graphics and photos on it to make the gift-receiver think there is a real USB toaster inside. I searched in Google the title of the device and found that onion.com really distribute several Gotcha gift boxes for 8$. The idea is nice, but I wanted to find out if there are real usb toaster at all. And I’ve got this list:

Scan Toaster designed by Sung Bae Chang (Electrolux). The idea is that it connects to the Internet via USB and downloads news feeds. Then you choose which content you want to have on your bread and it burns it on your slice. The concept is quite nice, but there are still no plans to manufacture the toaster on a mass scale.
USB Toaster Hard Drive Dock was the second device I found on the Internet.After reading product description I realized it was not what I was looking for. But still I deciced to keep it in the list as it looks like toaster and uses USB. This one is actually a USB hard drive dock shaped as toaster.
