Aren’t you tired of all those shiny glamorous audio players? We’ve seen lots of them. However, changes happen. In present time, we always meet ideas meant to make our lives not only more attractive but also simpler and the world better. And it’s not always the changes must necessarily be ultimate and cardinal by nature. Very often we just have to get back to the past or address to the present to get something really decent. This is what the new Mintpass player is. Mint Cube is an original vintage-stylized concept music player equipped with an FM radio.

Mint Cube music player from Mintpass

The device is created for those users for whom nostalgia is not alien. Nowadays in the era of touch pads and LED displays, Mint Cube boasts with analogue buttons and old school needles shifting when the volumes changes. We all remember cassette players with analogue buttons. We pressed one and it remained squeezed in. And when we pressed another, the first squeezed out. Mint Cube has exactly the same effect!

Mint Cube music player from Mintpass

However this “retro” has found a nice compromise with an up-to-date filling: USB port, earphones jack and Bluetooth module. On the left side it has a battery capacity indicator; on the right panel you’ll find a radio frequency indicator. All in all, Mint Cube is just 50 mm x 50 mm x 50 mm size, so it will perfectly place itself in your backpack as it was meant by the creator, by the way.

Created for men Mint Cube is a smashing toy for gadget savvy geeks and for those who enjoys showing off!

The company known as Bluemicrophone has released quite an interesting device, namely a microphone. It is not a conventional kind of microphone we all used to. Yeti USB Mic has received a THX certificate (nicknamed after first George Lucas’s movie «THX 1138»). It has unbelievably low distortion and impressive high fidelity thanks to up-to-date design and quality. It records in stereo and has a cardioid that may be omnidirectional and bidirectional that grade the result up under any recording conditions and in any situation be it live recording, broadcast, interview, concert or podcast. Yeti USB Mic is also packed up with a digital convertor analogue as well as hidden headphone amp. So now you may forget about such unpleasant things as echo or delay that usually spoil everything while recording.

Yeti USB Microphone

However, the price is not that democratic – $149.99. As the manufacturer claims Yeti USB Mic will be available in December already. The mic is ready to be plugged into a USB port and be used directly out of the box. Your PC or Mac will do. What is more, the microphone has a few convenient controls for mic pattern, mic gain, volume and headphone volume.

Overall, Yeti USB Mic is not a good investment for such purposes as Skype. However, if music recordings, Internet living communication and doing podcasts make up your daily routine, I think it is worth attention.
